Our Story
Our journey helping those in need in Toronto began 7 years ago when my beloved grandmother, who I was very close to, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Her rapid decline was heartbreaking to witness yet her strong personality and love was always there. We wanted to provide her with the same loving care and she had given us, and we were determined to make sure she was comfortable and safe.
We helped her with her activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating, in addition to exercise, and meaningful activities. We were also her advocate in the health care system, ensuring she was receiving the best possible care. Between working as a health care professional and life responsibilities, caring for my grandmother was one of the most challenging things we’ve ever experienced, but it was also one of the most rewarding.
We learned a lot about patience, compassion, and the value of unconditional love. I also learned the importance of home care support and the provision of holistic care services. Our grandmother benefited from having a health care professional in her inner circle, in which navigating a very complex system of appointments, treatment options, and living assistance made a difficult situation just a little easier.
My grandmother’s experience should not be unique. That is why we launched Triumph Home Care, as we want to help others triumph over very difficult living situations to maximize quality of life and meaningful moments.
